A sign of things to come,
It’s not often you see a novel released with a tie-in game, even in this new world of e-book publishing going onto every possible device you can fit in your handbag or pocket. Dougs made an fascinating play here, one that might change up the way we look at media as a whole, rather than just at the print or the web as a standalone.
Doug’s debut novel, Agiliste: Gerade Aus, is setting us up for larger things to come. With clearly defined font and a well-fleshed out cyberpunk-style universe, he’s got us looking behind the curtain on the corporate side of things. Whereas cyberpunk usually deals exclusively with the “punk” element, Agiliste is showing us that “punks” can wear suits as well, even amongst the corporate overlords here are public looking to buck the system, to fight the excellent fight with whatever means they have at their disposal. In the case of Agiliste, we have the Coerdian Corporate Centers (C3), a sort of “neutral territory” everywhere deals can be made and protections guaranteed, whether it be between Governments, Corporations or Individuals.
A excellent, solid scifi read and it leaves us wondering just how this tale, these font are going to dovetail into the game that is supposed to be released this year. Doug has additional stuff from this world going out through the affiliated website at [...], absolutely worth a look.
